Section 1
Recipe Diary (“the app”) is a recipe, meal-planning and shopping-list app. It’s made by Thomas Ambrose (“we”, “us”), who is the person responsible for your information - the data controller - and you can reach us at recipediary@ambrosecloud.com.
This policy explains what information the app accesses, stores and shares, and the choices you have. It applies to the Recipe Diary app on Apple’s App Store.

Everything you create in Recipe Diary is kept locally on your device. That includes:
This content stays on your device. We do not receive it, store it on our servers, or have any way to read it.
Section 3
If you add a photo to a recipe, or import a recipe by taking or choosing a photo, the app needs access to your camera or photo library. When you import from a photo, the text is read using your device’s built-in text recognition - the image is processed on your device and is not uploaded to us.
When you share a recipe link into the app, Recipe Diary retrieves that web page so it can read the recipe from it. That request goes directly from your device to the website at the address you shared, so the site will see your IP address as it would for any visitor - the website's own privacy policy applies to that.
Section 4
Recipe Diary does not include third-party analytics or advertising tools, and does not track you across other apps or websites. Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated statistics about downloads and crashes through the App Store; this information does not identify you.

Because your content stays on your device, it is used only to provide the app’s features to you - storing recipes, planning meals and building shopping lists.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising. The only parties involved in normal use are:
We may disclose information if the law requires it, but since your recipe data lives on your device, we generally have nothing to disclose.
Section 6
Your data is stored on your device and protected by your device’s own security, such as your passcode or Face ID and the device’s encryption. Keeping a device backup (through iCloud or your computer) helps protect against loss.
We keep your data only for as long as you do. Items stay until you delete them, and deleting the app removes its data from your device.
Section 7
Because your information stays on your device, you are in direct control of it: you can view, edit and delete any recipe, plan or list in the app, and remove everything by deleting the app.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as the GDPR (UK and EU) or the CCPA/CPRA (California), including the right to access, correct or delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information. The only personal information we ever hold is what you choose to send us directly - for example, an email you send to support - you can contact us at recipediary@ambrosecloud.com to exercise these rights.
Section 8
Recipe Diary is a general-audience app. It carries a 4+ age rating because it contains no objectionable content, but it is not designed for or directed at children, and it is not part of the App Store Kids category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information - for example, by emailing support - please contact us and we will delete it.

Your data stays on your device wherever you use the app. If you email us, that message is handled in Australia where we operate.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll note it in the app.
